About the Role:
Are you a problem-solver with a keen eye for risk management? Stanbic Bank Uganda is looking for a proactive Business Support Resolution Officer to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a critical part in safeguarding the bank’s assets by managing distressed accounts, recovering non-performing loans (NPLs), and implementing strategies to minimize credit risk.

What You’ll Do:
Risk Assessment & Monitoring:
- Identify and evaluate high-risk accounts (Watchlist & Early Arrears) to mitigate losses.
- Conduct Rapid Risk Reviews to spot potential issues before they escalate.
Credit Recovery & Negotiation:
- Work with Relationship Managers to restructure loans and recover debts.
- Engage with clients, legal teams, and external professionals (lawyers, auctioneers) to resolve NPLs.
Legal & Compliance Oversight:
- Review and draft legal documents (facility agreements, mortgage charges).
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
Reporting & Governance:
- Track loan impairments and maintain accurate recovery records.
- Present findings to Watchlist/NPL Committees and implement decisions.
Litigation Support:
- Assist in liquidation claims, creditor meetings, and legal proceedings.
Who We’re Looking For:
✔ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related field.
✔ Experience: 2+ years in banking (Credit, Recovery, or Legal roles preferred).
✔ Skills:
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of accounting, corporate banking, and legal lending principles.
- Ability to interpret financial data and make sound decisions.
- Proactive, resilient, and confident in handling tough conversations.
- Collaborative team player with high ethical standards.
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience in loan restructuring or debt recovery.
- Familiarity with Uganda’s banking regulations.
