About the Role:
Are you passionate about caring for young minds and ensuring their well-being? Aga Khan Education Service is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse to join our team in Uganda. In this vital role, you’ll be the frontline health advocate for our students, providing first aid, managing the school sick bay, and promoting a safe, healthy learning environment.

What You’ll Do:
Health Care & First Aid:
- Provide immediate care for students who fall ill or get injured during school hours.
- Administer first aid and manage emergency health situations.
- Contact parents/guardians when students need to go home due to health concerns.
Health Monitoring & Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate health records for all students.
- Track and report communicable diseases to school administration.
- Ensure compliance with child protection policies.
Sick Bay Management:
- Keep the sick bay clean, stocked, and well-organized.
- Monitor hygiene standards (e.g., water filters, cleanliness).
- Report any health hazards affecting students or staff.
Health Guidance & Support:
- Offer health counselling to students, parents, and staff.
- Promote wellness and preventive care within the school community.
Who We’re Looking For:
✔ Qualification: Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s is a plus).
✔ Licensing: Must hold a valid Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council practicing license.
✔ Experience: At least 5 years in a similar role, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
✔ Skills:
- Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with children in a multicultural environment.
- Organized, proactive, and calm under pressure.
